Mattes Architects & Designers, LLC has been founded to provide responsible, practical and ethical design services primarily to the deathcare, office and church markets. The firm will strive to provide a positive architectural experience by helping to create something of lasting value to its clients.

 

Mark is registered in five states, has 23 years of experience in all facets of architecture and has been involved with the design and construction of cemeteries, schools, office buildings, condominiums and large institutional projects. He has been a Vice-President of the Southwest chapter of the Wisconsin AIA and a Junior Achievement volunteer teacher.

 

He also continues part-time teaching at Waukesha County Technical College.

 

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, School of Architecture and Urban Planning (MARCH 1985), Mark has worked for firms in St. Louis, Madison and Milwaukee. 

 

Interns on staff include Rachel J. Mattes (daughter), in her third year of the School of Architecture in Milwaukee and Heather Bahr, who is finishing her degree in Architectural Studies at Waukesha County Technical College.

 

The firm is a member of the International Cemetery and Funeral Association, the National Catholic Cemetery Conference, the American Institute of Architects, the Association of Licensed Architects and the United States Green Building Council.
